Course & semester point limits
Course points
Each degree has a set number of total points which needs to be fulfilled for the completion of the degree. Undertaking more than the total points required for a course (over-enrolment) is not usually permitted. Students are recommended to read the university over-enrolment policy which the Faculty of Science applies to continuing courses and New Generation courses.
Enrolments which exceed the points limit require formal approval by the Faculty of Science. Any additional subjects will be deleted. Students who would like to complete subjects beyond their course points limit may do so by undertaking the Community Access Program (CAP).

Semester point limits
- The normal full-time workload is 50 points in each of Semester 1 and Semester 2, and up to 25 points in Summer Semester. An overload occurs when enrolment in any semester exceeds the normal level.
