How to add subjects
Students should read the 'Before adding subjects' section before attempting to add subjects.
- Subjects can be changed online using the Student Portal during set periods.
- After the set periods, students can change subjects at the Science Student Centre, as long as this is done within the subject change deadlines.
Before adding subjects
Students should consider the following information before adding subject:
Pre-requisites and co-requisites
- It is a student's responsibility to ensure the appropriate pre-requisites and/or co-requisites are met for any subjects a student would like to add to their enrolment.
- Students can check subject and course requirements by searching the Course & Subject Handbook.
Subject clashes
- Students are advised to check that their subjects have been timetabled without clashes. See: timetable and venue information.
Non-science points allowance
- The non-science points allowance applies to students enrolled in the 755BB : Bachelor of Science (continuing degree). It does not apply to students in the R01 : New Generation Bachelor of Science.
- A maximum of 62.5 non-science points can be counted towards a 755BB : Bachelor of Science single degree. Note that there is a restriction on the number of 100-level non-science points which can be counted.
Overload
- Adding a subject may result in an overload.
- Students are advised to read the information about the semester point limits on their enrolment and visit the Science Student Centre to change enrolment details if required.
Over-enrolment
- Adding a subject may result in an over-enrolment.
- Students are advised to read the information about the course point limits on their enrolment.
Subjects taught by other faculties
- Written permission may need to be submitted to the Science Student Centre.
